Seoul Tower is the landmark of Seoul and one of the top tourist destinations in Korea. I am not sure if it’s my 2nd or 3rd time here, I lost
my count. Anyways, for me it is best time to visit the tower at night, not just i find it more romantic but because
of its latest LED lighting which constantly changes colors and patterns.
How to get here:
I
already tried two ways on how to get here, by bus and via cable car. If you
would ask me who hates the stairs, it is better to take the bus first then take
the cable car going down so you can try both. Check their website on how to get
here.
Well the closest subway station is the Chungmuro Station (Line 3,4) then
use exit 2 and walk to the bus stop in front of Daehan Cinema. Take the Namsan
Sunhwan Shuttle Bus No. 2 and 5. From the bus stop, going up to the tower is a
bit challenging for me coz the trail is hilly. But now, I found out that there are new
route since Seoul Tower Plaza was opened last 2015. There are 3 streets from
the bus stop heading to the tower. Before and most of the visitors I guess
still used the right side street, it will take you directly to the Tower 1F
where ticket booth and love lock are located.
But for a lazy and no exercise bear like me hehe will probably take the
left and middle street route. The left side street is actually the way to the
parking area. But I saw some people walking on that side so I guess you can
take that route too just be careful and watch for the cars passing. Get inside
the Seoul Tower Plaza, and then take the elevator up to the the tower ticket
booth which is located at the 6F or Tower 1F. Thankful to this new building coz this save our lives hahaha. Same with the street on the center, which we only tried walking and have no idea that
we are on the right track hehe. I think this is the safest route; this will lead you to the GF of the plaza and then take the elevator.
[Left photo] I turned back when I took this photo after entering this
light arch. This is the middle street route that direct us to the GF of Seoul
Tower Plaza. Have you seen that hilly light up street, that is the way up to the Tower 1F.
Heading our way to the entrance, the view from our left side is breathtaking
as the lights from the City are so beautiful. Oh and the parking area, this is
what I am talking about.
Seoul Tower Plaza is the new attraction here. There’s Hanbok
Culture Experience Center, new restaurants, café, gaming plaza and other
attractions that you can enjoy aside from visiting the summit of the tower.
Now going down from the tower, take the cable car so you can try both. But
if you prefer the bus going back it’s still ok since it is cheaper. From the
Tower 1F, follow the way to the cable car then take the stairs going down to the
station. I have no problem taking the stairs as long as the path is going down coz it’s
less tedious for me, sorry for being so indolent I need to save my energy hehe. By the way go to the right side of the car, the view is on that side.
One way ticket cost KRW6,000 and the journey will only take less than
5mins., yeah it’s just a quick ride. Near the cable car station there is an
elevator called Namsan Oreumi Elevator you can take that going down to the main
street. Then it’s a long way walking to the nearest subway, check the map below.
Another option is to take the cable car, get off at Myeongdong Station.
You also have two options from the map above (follow the * sign), the closest exit is 3 but the
trail is hilly don’t tell me I didn’t warn you hehehe… it’s a 15-30 mins walk
following the street on the right side of Pacific Hotel. Or you can take the
long trail, same station but use exit 4. Follow the map and take the Namsan
Oreomi Elevator up to the Namsan Cable Car. Round trip ticket cost is KRW 8,500, you can take the same way going back.
But if you are fit and up for a challenge, you can use the trail near the cable car station. It's 777 steps up to the tower, will just cheer for you.... fighting!
This is the view of the tower and downtown Seoul from the bus stop.
N Seoul Tower’s new
attraction, Hello Kitty Island. This is actually the reason i'm here, fangirling over Hello Kitty.

Don’t miss N Seoul Tower when you visit Korea, there are more things to
do and visit here now. And if you love K-Dramas, the more you need to see this place as there are a lot of scenes shot in here like the latest hit drama, Legends of the Blue Sea.
