Santa Monica Beach

June 2014, USA Trip
Los Angeles, California

H E L L O   U S A ! ! !

All I wanna do is have some fun
I got a feeling Im not the only one
All I wanna do is have some fun
Until the sun comes up over Santa Monica Boulevard

I think of this song, the first time I got here.  Now it's playing all over again.

Santa Monica State Beach is an iconic destination that draws visitors from around the globe. It is 3 miles long, covering 245 acres of sand along Santa Monica Bay. Residents and visitors enjoy broad stretches of sandy beach, rolling waves,  meandering bikes and walking paths and inspiring views of the Santa Monica Mountains year-round. Santa Monica State Beach is managed by the City of Santa Monica in cooperation with California State Parks.

I arrived in LA past 8 in the morning on the same day.  And all the way from the airport, we headed to the Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica Beach.  I was so excited and full of energy even with lack of sleep.  I don't wanna waste time since I only have one day to explore Los Angeles, larga agad pagdating pa lang.

Good thing we got here early, crowds are getting bigger when we left so for sure parking would be a problem.

Memorial Day was observed during last Monday of May to commemorate all men and women who have died in the military service for their country. Arlington West is a temporary memorial created on Santa Monica Beach.

These crosses are placed for each U.S. military person who has died during the Iraq War.

It's summer! Beach time in the US, but from a person living in a tropical country like me, this weather feels like Baguio.  Sunny but windy, It's cold and I love it! I just can't imagine myself on the beach.

An amusement park in Santa Monica Pier.

You will not get starve as there are plenty of cafe's and restaurants to choose from.

Finally, I got to see the beauty of Santa Monica Beach in daylight.  It was already dark the first time I came here. This shot was taken at the Pier.

Souvenir post cards, 3 for $1

More shops and restaurants are located at the end of the pier. This location is also popular for anglers.

The view of the large ferris wheel from the Pacific Park is more attractive during at night with its lights.

So we ended to Pier Burger to have our brunch.

Brunch treat from Aleli :-), thank you friend

My first meal, Cheese Burger with no tomato and onions, isang tabong fries and a strawberry milk shake..... yummy! But sorry po, dunno why I didn't finish my food. Not sure if it's just too big or I'm still full from the breakfast served on the plane.
