THAILAND: Ayutthaya - Wat Lokayasutharam

2011 Holy Week SEA Trip

The most important feature of Wat Lokayasutharam is the largest reclining Buddha image in Ayutthaya called Phra Buddhasaiyart.  The statue is made of brick covered with plaster and about 42 meters long.  Can be found on the city island in the Ayutthaya Historical Park    and was built during The Early Period of the Ayutthaya Region.

Behind the reclining Buddha you will find remains of other temple.

This was our last stop before we headed for the River Sun Cruise at Wat Chong Lom Pier in Nontaburi Province.
