THAILAND: Shopping in Bangkok

2011 Holy Week SEA Trip

First day in Bangkok is tend to go shopping.  But since its the end of the lent, we go to the Church first.   We ask the hotel lobby staff to write down the nearest Catholic Church, gave it to the taxi driver and he brought us to Our Lady of Fatima.

The Church was empty, it would be better if there is a mass even if we don't understand a word.  Just want to experience and witness it.  Staffs were still cleaning and preparing for the next mass which is scheduled in the afternoon according to them.

With its decorations, you know that an important event is celebrated on this day.  Happy Easter!

They have this prepared for the Easter, and it was nice of them to give us these Easter eggs and a bottle of holy water.  Khob Kun Ka!

We regret that we didn't tried Bangkok's train system.  Most of the time we we're taking a cab, yeah it's not as expensive compare to KL and Singapore but MTR and BTS is still the cheapest way.  Sorry but we are all having an attack of indolence that time hehe... .  Good thing is they allow 5 group of person in 1 taxi and we didn't experience any traffic going from one place to another.

When you think of Thailand, what comes to your mind?  For me the country is famous for it's beaches, food and SHOPPING!!!

How to get here:

According to the Bangkok Shopping guide, it's best to grab a taxi and just tell the driver "Platinum".  But if you don't mind walking in the heat a bit, you can take the Skytrain to either Childlom or Siam Station.

Buying 1 pc is a retail price ex. 1 shirt cost 250 Baht, but for 3 pc or more they can give it for 500 Baht.  So what we do, since we're 5 of us we combine the clothes we want then we get the wholesale price.

It excites us when we enter the mall so we forget to take picture hehe... busy shopping.  Platinum Fashion Mall is similar to 168 and Divisoria Mall in the Philippines.  We get back here the next day but each of us go on our own, it is easier to shop alone and faster.  We set a place and time to meet before we go back, Platinum mall is just 15 mins. walk to our hotel.
