2011 Holy Week SEA Trip

Asia’s Favourite Playground / Singapore’s Island Resort
(Sentosa’s logo and Slogan)

Sentosa Is a popular island resort in Singapore, visited by some five million people a
year.  Attractions include a 2 km (1.2 mi) long sheltered beach, Fort Siloso, two golf
courses, two five-star hotels, and the Resorts World Sentosa, featuring the theme park
Universal Studios Singapore.

In 1972 contest organised by the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board, the Island was
renamed Sentosa, a Malay word meaning “peace and tranquillity”, from Sanskrit,
Santosha. Source: Wikipedia

We get up early, check-out and then leave our luggages at the hostel.  It’s our last day in Singapore and before we depart for our 5:30 PM flight to Bangkok we still have time to explore, we headed to Sentosa via MRT.

SINGAPORE: Universal Studios

2011 Holy Week SEA Trip

UniversalParks & Resorts markets the park as a “one-of-its kind theme park in Asia”.  Being the second to open in Asia and first in South East Asia, the park opens last October of 2009.  With a total of 24 attractions and consists of seven themed zones, each zone is based on a movie or a television show.  Source:  Wikipedia

Since we only have a very limited time in Singapore, even on a Good Friday yes we are here.  And we didn’t expect this day to be a Super Peak date, so if you are planning better check their website first and then look for their Calendar Chart where you can see the Non Peak, Peak and Super Peak dates.  Tickets can be purchase online and at the park.  Since we had a Super Peak date we decided to buy the ticket online, a one day pass which cost SGD 72.00 per head for Adult.  Just print your e-mailed tickets for admission and then scan it at the turnstile.
